Background Remover

A background remover that runs entirely on your device. Most online removers upload your photo to a server and process it there; this one loads a small AI model into your browser and does the work locally, so your image stays private and nothing is uploaded.

The result is a transparent PNG, the background cut away cleanly. You can also drop the cutout onto a white, black or custom background color before downloading, which is handy for profile pictures, product shots and thumbnails.

It uses a portrait matting model, so it is at its best on photos of people: portraits, selfies and full-body shots. It handles many clear single subjects too, but very busy or low-contrast scenes, or fine strands of hair against a similar background, can be less precise.

The first time you use it, a small model (about 13 MB) downloads to your browser and is cached. After that the tool runs fast and even works offline, because the model is already on your device and there is no server round trip.

Where it can, the tool uses your graphics hardware (WebGPU) for speed and falls back to a slower but compatible mode otherwise, so it works across modern browsers without any setup, plugin or account.

Because the cutout is computed locally, this is a genuinely private way to remove a background from sensitive or personal photos. Nothing about the image is sent anywhere or logged.
