Frequently asked questions

What are the 2026 IRPEF brackets?

Italy taxes income in three progressive bands: 23% on the first 28,000 EUR, 33% from 28,001 to 50,000 EUR, and 43% above 50,000 EUR. Only the slice of income in each band is taxed at that rate.

What is the detrazione lavoro dipendente?

It is a tax reduction under art. 13 TUIR for employees. It equals 1,955 EUR for income up to 15,000 EUR, then tapers down to zero at 50,000 EUR. It reduces the tax owed, not the taxable income.

Does this include addizionali regionale and comunale?

No. Regional and municipal surtaxes vary by residence and are added on top of IRPEF. This estimate covers only the national IRPEF.

Is this my exact tax bill?

No. This is an estimate based on the 2026 bracket scale and standard detrazione. It excludes trattamento integrativo, family deductions, and other credits. Actual liability may differ. Not tax advice.
